The hallowed month of ancient days; renowned in this age, in this place, for, hot, volatile air, thick with humidity drawn to heaven by strong morning sun. August air is filled with the scent of fresh-cut grass and the sound of katydids. August produces the sweetest of melons, and tall, stately stands of the venerable Joe Pye, holding languid sway in the current of passing traffic. Wispy mid-day clouds gather, thicken, and grow dark with promise of evening storms, and daylight leans into dark through brief moments of golden twilight. ~K
