It’s what we do in winter, along with our regularly scheduled tours.

Winter can be a challenge, as cold and wind make many days just too uncomfortable for most people. Thus, the Pop-Ups! When we spot pleasant weather in the forecast, we’ll schedule an impromptu tour and let you know about it right away. Pop-Ups have a different focus each time, from loons and winter birdlife, to waterfalls in winter , to our fun cabin fever tours, where you can bring along your favorite canine if you like for a lake tour and short hike on a winter’s day. Be sure to check your email regularly. We’ll let you know when it’s just right to be outside.
ROARING MOUNTAINS REPORT. Stop your boat most anywhere you like on Lake Jocassee. Turn off your motor or put your paddle away. Listen carefully. You’ll hear the mountains roar. There is so much water flowing into the lake that it is audible wherever you stop to listen. If you lean in closely, and listen with particular care, you may even hear the birthing sounds of the Savannah River.
